Admission Requirements

INTERNATIONAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

International students must obtain an F-1 Visa at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate in their country of origin at their own expense.

    Official Secondary School Transcript (must be translated and evaluated into English)**

  • English Language Proficiency Test

    English language proficiency scores may be waived for international students coming from an English-speaking country or who have studied an English-language curriculum for at least two years. You can find the list of exempt countries here: English Language Proficiency Exempt Countries

     

  • College/Higher Education Transcripts

    If you would like the college transcripts to be reviewed for transfer of credits (must be translated and tabulated into English)**. We do not guarantee that credits from Colleges and Universities outside of the United States will transfer.

  • Letter of Recommendation

    (Optional)

  • Personal Essay

    (Optional)

  • **TRANSCRIPT EVALUATION INFO

    All high school transcripts received are required to undergo an evaluation by a NACES certified evaluation service. This evaluation ensures that your educational qualifications are accurately understood and recognized in the U.S. academic context. World Evaluation Services has created a portal specific to Richard Bland College. The portal allows you as the student and us as the receiving college to track the progress on your evaluation. WES will also send the finished evaluation to RBC upon completion, expediting the admission process.

    After Admission to Richard Bland College of William & Mary, additional documents and steps will be required for an I20 to be issued for obtaining a Visa from your home country. They are outlined below.

Congratulations You’ve Been Admitted to Richard Bland College!

Once you’ve received your “You’ve Been Accepted!” email you will need to send the following documents.

  • Copy of passport

    Must be an active passport and cannot be due to expire during your time here.

  • Financial Certification Form

    This will be emailed to you or your agent by the enrollment counselor.

  • Official Bank Statement

    This document cannot be password protected, it must be dated within 6 months of acceptance, and must show, at a minimum, the amount equivalent to one year at Richard Bland College of William & Mary in U.S. Dollars. Tuition and Fees plus Room and Board Expenses equals $26, 574.

  • Tuition Deposit: $2000

    For international payments, Richard Bland College has partnered with Flywire to allow International students to pay using their local currency. With Flywire, International students may track payments through the whole process and can take advantage of Flywire’s 24/7 Customer Support team.   • I20 and Visa Information

    International students must obtain an F-1 Visa at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate in their country of origin at their own expense. Richard Bland College of William & Mary will issue the I20 that contains their SEVIS ID# needed to obtain the Visa after all of the above outlined steps are completed.

  • **IMPORTANT DATES FOR FALL 2024**

    April 2nd: I20s will begin processing on.

    August 21st: International Students Move In Date

    August 26th: First Day of Class

    SAT Reading Score of 22 or Higher may waive English Language Proficiency

    o Transcript Evaluations will be required for any international transcripts.
    o Dean Certification Form- Please request this form at irbc@rbc.edu.
    o Valid i20s can be transferred to RBC by the transferring school once admitted
    o International Students must have an active CEVIS number
    o English Proficiency Test will be waived on a case by case
