Richard Bland College is a part of the NJCAA Region 10 Conference representing 10 sports teams. The NJCAA is the second largest national intercollegiate sports organization. It serves as the national governing body for two-year College athletics in the United States. Now entering its 75th anniversary, the NJCAA has over 500 member schools in 43 states.

NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!

The Richard Bland College of William & Mary’s Women’s Volleyball team concluded a historic 2022 season by winning the NJCAA National Championship.Both Head Volley Coach Stephanie Champine and Assistant Head Volleyball Coach Shaun Dryden rebuilt the program and led them to a National Championship. First time in school history they had won a single match at nationals and the team won all 4. 3. Coach Champine received both NJCAA Coach of the year and Region 10 coach of the year in 2022.

The Richard Bland College Men’s Basketball Program

The Statesmen are a college basketball team that competes in the Region 10 Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division II, representing RBC. The RBC Statemen’s head coach is Andrew Lacey.

Widely regarded as one of the top scholastic coaches in Virginia, Lacey arrives at Richard Bland following six seasons at Varina High School where he built the program into a powerhouse, compiling a 109-46 record, including a 51-4 mark the past two years. In 13 seasons as both a boys and girls scholastic head coach, Lacey has amassed a 188-101 career record, which includes one state championship, two regional championships, and two conference championships.

RBC WOMEN’S SOFTBALL

The Richard Bland College of William & Mary Softball Team represents RBC in NJCAA Division II college softball. The team is coached by Morgan Smith.Smith enters her 3rd season as head coach for the 2023-24 year. Morgan Smith, a four-year starter on the four-time Rowan University NCAA Tournament softball team, and a recent graduate assistant coach at Eastern Mennonite University, has been named head softball coach at Richard Bland College of William & Mary today.
